Historic and Beautiful French Creek

Historic & Beautiful French Creek

Since its earliest days, Cochranton has held a scenic location on the banks of French Creek. Given its name by George Washington in 1753, French Creek is widely known for its scenic beauty and impressive biodiversity. The creek serves as a gateway to a variety of outdoor activities, including canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking and camping. Through its partnership with the French Creek Valley Conservancy, CARE is committed to making the most of this wonderful asset, for both residents and visitors to our community.

CARE is a non-profit organization dedicated to working together to improve our community by taking advantage of our strengths while addressing our weaknesses.
